ISCM
Greek Section

The Greek Section of International Society for Contemporary Music was founded in 1964 from Y. A. Papaioannou and aims in the osmosis of activities of the Greek Composers' Union (GCU) with the activities of International Society of Contemporary Music, which represent a great part of the current contemporary works globaly. The board of the Greek Section coincides with the board of GCU (Chairman T. Antoniou). Through the World Music Days (WMD) organised annualy by the ISCM, an opportunity is given to Greek composers to present their work, covering an abundance of creative activities, as works for solo instrument, chamber music, orchestra, electroacoustics, video art, opera etc. Each Section is represented by 6 works each year, selected by the board of the Section and then submitted to an international committee appointed by the organizer, which selects the work that will be performed in the WMD. The board of the GCU encourages the involvement of Greek composers in the process of submission of work in the WMD, so that a high representation of Greece in the international scene is achieved.

More information can be found at www.iscm.org or by contacting the board responsible Mr. Leontios Hadjileontiadis (leontios@auth.gr).
