MOUZAS ALEXANDROS

 
 

Biography:

Greek composer, born in 1962. He studied composition with Theodoros Antoniou, advanced theory with Haris Xanthoudakis and electronic music with Dimitris Kamarotos. He has composed for various ensembles and has received commissions from organisations and orchestras. He has collaborated with choreographer Konstantinos Michos and the ‘Lathos Kinissi’ dance group in many productions. His ballet Tricia didn’t leave home (for orchestra; 1999) and the composition Struwwelpeter (for orchestra and narrator; 2004), both commissioned by the Athens Concert Hall, are among his most important works. His professional activities include image-related music. He has written original music for short films, television series, documentaries and commercials for all Greek television channels. He collaborated with the ‘Athens 2004’ Organisation, writing original music for the Athens Olympic Games corporate videos. He was artistic director of the Greek Section of the European programme ‘New Media Edge Project’ (2003). He teaches music technology and cinema music at top schools in Athens. In recent years, he has acted as production manager in many important CD releases of Greek orchestral music. Since 1998, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Union of Greek Composers.
